Our Story

We built this because
we needed it ourselves.

VedicHymns is not a startup chasing its next funding round. It is the product of fifteen years of personal questions, frustration with a broken system, and the conviction that ancient wisdom deserves better tools.

2009Where the story begins
Where it started

A mother’s stroke. Six years of waiting.
And astrologers counting minutes.

In 2009, Arunav Talukdar’s mother had a stroke. The family, like many Indian families facing something medicine couldn’t fully explain, turned to astrology for guidance. They visited astrologers. They sat with Nadi readers. They spent money and hope on consultations that should have offered clarity.

What they found was almost always the same thing — sessions that felt more like performance than precision. Interpretations that varied wildly between practitioners. An almost gravitational pull toward expensive gemstones and rituals that nobody could justify with logic. 80% intuition. 20% calculation. And even that 20% was done on software nobody explained, producing numbers nobody cross-referenced.

Three years later, in 2012, Arunav and his wife began trying to conceive. Once again, medically everything was fine. Once again, the journey took them through astrologers, temples, Nadi readers, and practitioners of every stripe. The questions were real. The answers were inconsistent. The remedies were expensive.

“What disturbed me most was the ratio. Roughly 80% intuition, 20% actual calculation. And for that 20%, the maths was being done on software nobody explained, producing answers nobody cross-referenced. I thought: the knowledge is real. The framework is ancient and sophisticated. The problem is the delivery.”

In 2018, their daughter was born. In that moment of arrival — after years of questions, practitioners, and inconsistent answers — Arunav made a decision. He was working as a Communication Analyst and Marketer, someone who understood systems, data, and how to make complex things legible to real people. He registered the domain VedicHymns.com that year with a specific conviction: that Vedic astrology deserved to be treated as a structured, calculable system — not an intuition-heavy performance.

The idea was clear. The technology to execute it did not yet exist. So he waited, studied, and prepared.

What was broken

The astrology industry has a
specific problem.

It is not that the traditions are wrong. Vedic Jyotish, Tarot, I Ching, Runes — these are complete, coherent systems built over centuries. The problem is what happened to them when they met commerce.

1
The gemstone trap
The fastest way for a practitioner to monetise a reading is to prescribe a stone. A ₹15,000 recommendation takes 30 seconds to make and cannot be verified. Vulnerable people have spent lakhs on remedies that did nothing — because the reading was never precise enough to earn that prescription.
2
The interpretation lottery
Ask the same chart question to five astrologers and receive five different answers. Not because the tradition is unreliable — but because the practitioner’s personal beliefs, energy levels, and financial incentives colour every word they speak.
3
The access problem
A genuinely good Jyotishi charges ₹3,000–₹8,000 per session. A student, a young professional, a retired person on a fixed income — none of them can consult repeatedly as their questions evolve. The wisdom is rationed by money.
4
The single-tradition ceiling
Your career question might be better answered by KP astrology’s precision. Your relationship question might benefit from cross-referencing Jaimini’s Karakamsha with Ashtakoot. No single practitioner masters all schools, and none will tell you when another tradition would serve you better.

VedicHymns was built to solve all four. Not by replacing human wisdom — but by removing the layers of financial incentive, inconsistency, and inaccessibility that sit between the tradition and the person asking the question.

What we believe

You are not a category.
You are a cosmos.

There are 7+ billion people on this planet. Every system we interact with — financial, medical, social — groups us. You are your Aadhaar number. Your age bracket. Your sun sign. Your Myers-Briggs type. Even most spiritual systems, which claim to see you, end up putting you in a box.

VedicHymns does not. Every reading on this platform responds to your exact birth data, your exact question, and your exact moment. Not an archetype. Not a demographic. You.

“Every ancient wisdom system was originally a one-to-one conversation between a knowledgeable person and an individual. Mass media industrialised wisdom the same way it industrialised food. We are here to take it back to its original form — personal, contextual, alive.”

This is not a marketing statement. It is an engineering constraint. Every calculation in our engine runs against your individual chart. Every AI interpretation is built around your specific question. No two readings produced by VedicHymns are the same — because no two people who use it are the same.

What we built

We couldn’t find the right engine.
So we built our own.

Every commercially available astrology API has the same limitation: it gives you a chart, not an interpretation engine. It tells you where Saturn is. It cannot tell you what that means across Parashari, KP, Jaimini, and Nadi simultaneously — for your specific question, at this moment.

So we built Kaaliyo Astro — a proprietary 327-endpoint Vedic astrology computation engine that powers every reading on VedicHymns. It handles planetary positions, divisional charts (D1 through D60), Vimshottari and Chara dashas, KP sub-lords, Nadi chains, nakshatra sequences, Ashtakoot compatibility, eclipse interactions, Panchang, Muhurta scoring, and more — all computed fresh for every reading, never cached as a generic output.

⚙️
Kaaliyo Astro Engine
327 proprietary endpoints covering every major Vedic calculation system. Built from primary texts, not adapted from generic astrology libraries.
🧠
Multi-Model AI Layer
Different AI systems handle different tasks — deep reasoning for reports, conversational intelligence for apps, fast classification for routing. The right tool for each job.
Streaming Responses
Readings arrive in real-time, word by word, not as a bulk delivery after a long wait. The tradition is ancient. The experience should feel instant.
🔒
Your Data, Locked
Your readings and birth data are secured at the database row level. No one — not even the engineers — can read your data in bulk. Your chart belongs to you.
🌐
Always-On Infrastructure
Globally distributed infrastructure means every reading resolves from a server close to you — whether you are in Mumbai, London, or Dubai — with near-zero downtime.
💬
WhatsApp-Native
myJyotish is built directly on Meta’s Cloud API — not a third-party bridge. Your birth chart is stored once, and every question you ask over WhatsApp accesses it instantly.

The engine is not AI doing astrology. The engine does the astrology — deterministically, from the exact calculations the classical texts prescribe. The AI reads those results and translates them into language a real person can understand and act on. The calculation is never invented. Only the language is generated.

The journey

Fifteen years from the first question
to 18,000 readings.

2009
A mother’s stroke
The first encounter with astrology — not by choice, but by necessity. Multiple practitioners. Wildly inconsistent answers. The first seeds of frustration with a system that should have been more rigorous.
2012–2018
Six years of questions
A difficult journey to conceive a child. More astrologers. More Nadi readers. More gemstone prescriptions. More inconsistent answers. And the growing conviction that the knowledge itself was real — but the delivery was broken.
2018
Their daughter is born. The domain is registered.
VedicHymns.com is purchased the same year their daughter arrives. The idea is clear: a mathematically rigorous, multi-tradition Vedic platform. The AI to power it does not yet exist — but the conviction does.
2023–2025
Deep study and mock readings
Years of structured study of primary Jyotish texts, mock readings, and the hand-crafted report phase — delivering individually written Vedic astrology and numerology reports via WhatsApp and email. In this period alone, over 1,200 reports were delivered with a 4.9-star rating, proving the demand and refining the methodology.
2025
numiVeda AI Reports — and a company is born
AI finally becomes a genuinely capable tool. numiVeda Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is incorporated in Faridabad. The first fully AI-generated Vedic astrology reports launch under the numiVeda brand — the first product of the new company. The Kaaliyo Astro engine begins taking shape.
2026
VedicHymns launches — and Kaaliyo Astro reaches 327 endpoints
34 complete wisdom traditions go live simultaneously. myJyotish on WhatsApp. The credit wallet. The full platform — all solo-built and bootstrapped. The Kaaliyo Astro engine completes its 327th endpoint, covering every major Vedic computation system in one proprietary API.
Now
18,000+ readings — in the pilot phase alone
Even before a formal marketing push, VedicHymns has already delivered over 18,000 readings. Every tradition is live. Every reading is real. The mission has not changed since 2018: make genuine wisdom accessible, affordable, and consistent — without asking you to buy a stone first.
The person behind it

Built by one person.
Accountable to the users.

Arunav Talukdar, Founder of VedicHymns
Arunav Talukdar
Founder — VedicHymns • numiVeda Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
Communication Analyst and Marketer by background. Student of Vedic Jyotish by necessity — it started with personal questions that no astrologer answered satisfactorily. Builder of Kaaliyo Astro and the VedicHymns platform. Based in Faridabad, NCR. All of this was built by one person, without external funding, without institutional backing, and without the pressure of satisfying investor expectations. The accountability is entirely to you.

There are no formal credentials to list here — no lineage, no guru, no institution. Arunav will be the first to say he is still studying. What he does have is fifteen years of personal questions, over 1,200 manually delivered reports, a proprietary engine built because the available tools were not good enough, and 18,000+ readings delivered in the platform’s pilot phase alone.

The honest version of this About page is: a father was frustrated, spent years studying, built something, and it worked. And because it worked without investors, every pricing decision made since has been “how low can we charge and still keep the lights on?” — not “what will the market bear?”

That distinction matters. It is the reason readings start at ₹49. It is the reason every new tradition added to the platform is included in the same credit wallet. It is the reason this platform exists.

Our commitment

Bootstrapped means
we answer to you, not investors.

VedicHymns is entirely self-funded. There are no venture capital investors waiting for a return, no board pressuring for premium pricing tiers, no growth-at-all-costs mandate. This is not a small thing. It has direct consequences for how the platform works.

Pricing that respects everyone
From a student to someone retired on a fixed income — the credit system is designed so that anyone can use this platform without it being a financial decision. A single reading costs ₹49. A full session costs less than one autorickshaw ride to a local astrologer.
No remedy upsells, ever
We do not sell gemstones. We do not earn a commission from any remedy recommendation. When myRemedies recommends a stone, it also tells you when to be cautious. That independence is only possible because there is no financial incentive pointing the other direction.
Your data belongs to you
We do not sell data to advertisers. We do not share your birth details or reading history with third parties. The business model is straightforward: you pay a small amount for a reading. That is the transaction. Nothing else.
Traditions treated with respect
Every tradition on this platform was built from primary sources: classical texts, not summaries. The I Ching uses all 64 hexagrams with changing lines. The Tarot uses the full 78-card deck. The KP system uses Placidus cusps and the actual sub-lord algorithm. Nothing is simplified to make it easier to build.
